The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
