Los Angeles experienced citywide celebrations after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Fans worldwide united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has secured consecutive championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Turnout

Local celebrations included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the players emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and the artist driving a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Celebrations began prior to the parade, with supporters lighting fireworks in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the win.

The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
